I need a website but have no idea where to start. Can you explain to me what I will need? (back to top)
To get your website published on the web, you will need the following: a domain name, someone to design your site, and server space at a web hosting company. We suggest that you get a domain name registered first. You can do this at any domain registry companies such as Register.com or GoDaddy. Then you or a web developer can design and develop the website. During this phase you can find a web hosting company. Remember that once you register you domain name, you will have to transfer it to the hosting company. It usually takes up to 72 hours for the domain name to be activated.
Since each company's business need is unique, the cost for web design and development will vary depending on the scope of the project. After we get a good understanding of our clients' needs, we quote them a price. If any additional services are needed on top of the agreed upon terms, they will be billed separately.
Do I have to find a web hosting company or can you do that? (back to top)
We are happy to announce that we now provide web hosting services. See our Hosting Plans for more information. If you would like to choose another hosting company, we would be happy to recommend some.
Tell me a little about your web design process. (back to top)
After an initial project consultation with our clients, we design a couple of prototypes in order to establish the look and feel of the website. After the design is approved, we begin the development of the site. During this process, we work with our clients to get all necessary content, graphics, etc. After we finish developing the site, we test it on all major browsers to ensure it will display well for all visitors.
What if I don't like a design idea? Am I stuck with it? (back to top)
At the beginning of a project, we try to get a good idea of exactly what our clients want. We also ask them to submit examples of sites that they like. We then draw up a couple of design ideas and submit them for approval. If they approve of one, we go into the programming process. If they don't approve, then we draw up a couple of more until the client is satisfied.
How long does it take for you to create a website? (back to top)
It depends on the scope of the project. A simple 5-8 page website with limited graphics work can be completed within a couple of days after a client has approved a design idea. For more complex websites including databases and advanced scripting, it can take more time. At the beginning of each project, we give our clients a time estimate of completion.
After you create the site, what do I do if something needs changing in the future? (back to top)
Some of our clients choose to sign up for our maintenance service which allows them to have their own personal webmaster. The cost of the service is dependent on the amount of time required to perform the updates. We are also always on call for any emergencies.
I need some printed materials (letterheads, brochures, catalogs, etc.). Do you do these as well? (back to top)
For most print requests, we work closely with a very experienced graphic design company that specializes in print graphics. All this is seamless to our clients, as we work with the company to ensure that our clients' needs and ideas are addressed. We also ensure that all print materials are consistent with our clients' web materials.
What's the difference between custom designed websites and template based websites? (back to top)
Some design companies create dozens of templates for websites and then offer them for sale. Although this is a cheaper alternative to custom designed websites, they are not sold exclusively to each buyer. So, several businesses can have identical looking websites. We believe that businesses that are serious about developing a professional web presence should have websites that are original and represent their uniqueness.
